R&S Grating COVID-19 Update – 25.03.20

In these uncertain and rapidly evolving times, we wanted to send a message of support to our customers and keep you informed of the impacts on our operations and the precautions we’re taking to keep our staff, customers and supply-partners safe. We are monitoring the situation closely and all decisions are based on the latest available advice from the authorities. While we remain open for all sales, pick ups and deliveries, we have made some changes to our operations in the interests of everyone’s safety.

We have taken the decision to close our show room in an effort to minimise face to face contact between our staff and the public. While our front door is locked, our sales team remain ready on the phones to take all enquiries. Pick ups may now proceed directly to the despatch office (down the left driveway of the property, as signed), which is now permanently attended, to pick up pre-ordered items. If you arrive without having placed your order, or need to modify your order, you can call us on (03) 9238 5888 at any time and one of sales team will facilitate your order or modifications for immediate pick up at the despatch office.

To minimise contact between our delivery staff and the public, we are now offering contact free delivery. Our drivers will unload your order by crane or hand and place it where instructed. In lieu of signing a delivery docket, the driver will ask for the receiver’s full name and take a photo of the position where the goods were left. If you would like a copy of this photo/receiver’s name, please contact our office. We ask that anyone receiving a delivery from us maintain a minimum distance of 1.5m from our staff and turn away when coughing or sneezing. All our drivers are carrying antibacterial hand sanitiser should anyone wish to use some.

Our sales team are postponing site and office visits with our customers, except where strictly required and requested by our customers. As always, our Sales Manager Steve Skinner can be reached by mobile phone or by calling our office and likewise for our Area Sales Rep. Neil Ward.

For our office staff and production team, we have made some changes to minimise their risks of contracting Coronavirus. We have made hand sanitiser and N95 masks available to all staff. We have staggered our production hours so that morning, lunch and afternoon tea breaks are staggered between groups to minimise the concentration of staff in the tea room and comply with the government’s four square metre social distancing requirements. We have provided our staff with the government’s advice on best hygiene practices and minimising the risk of contracting Coronavirus. All staff have been instructed not to attend work should they feel ill, or become aware of contact between themselves and a confirmed COVID-19 case.

As the situation continues to develop we will continue to adapt our response and operations in the best interests of our staff’s health and safety and that of the wider community. We remain committed to offering our customer’s the best possible service, without compromising on anyone’s safety. We understand these are trying times and would like to thank our customers for their understanding.
