Kerb adaptors are designed to facilitate the flow of stormwater through kerbing and into a channel. Traditional methods of achieving this often involved casting PVC pipes into kerbing, severely weaking the concrete kerbing. Inevitably this results in the kerb crumbling and can pose a serious risk to pedestrians. As a result, kerb adaptors are now commonly used to ensure the integrity of the kerbing, while maintaining a stable path for the drainage of stormwater.
R&S Grating recommend recycled rubber kerb adaptors. Recycled rubber kerb adaptors are made from used tyres and offer the distinct advantage over other materials of being highly elastic with minimal permanent deformation under typical loads. Other kerb adaptors are also available upon request.
